Tesla and SpaceX have officially confirmed that Terafab will be built in Grimes County, Texas, bringing one of the most ambitious advanced manufacturing projects in the country practically into RoadStar Moving’s backyard.
The initial phase represents a planned $16.8 billion investment, with the massive semiconductor manufacturing complex expected to encompass approximately 100 million square feet and create at least 3,000 jobs.
For those of us who live and work in the Brazos Valley, this isn’t simply another headline about Texas growth.
It’s happening here.
Welcoming Terafab to Grimes County

The project has already been the subject of public meetings and community discussion in Grimes County. In June, SpaceX officially signed its tax-abatement agreement with the county, including a commitment to invest at least $5 billion by 2030 and create at least 1,800 full-time jobs by 2035 under that agreement.
More recently, the companies officially announced Grimes County as the location for Terafab.
